Willy Hernangomez stirred up excitement in the stands during last night’s Knicks vs Nets game. We got the chance to speak to him during the post game and he reflected on his performance.
The Knicks facing off against the Nets isn’t quite a classic just yet but it’s starting to get there. As the team was desperately looking to not lose, the fans were cheering in the stands in hopes to see their team win.
It was a rough start but as we saw by the end of the first quarter, the Knicks were down and the defense was not existent. When the end of the first half came, things looked bleak but the second half, the Knicks were explosive. Carmelo Anthony landed shot after shot but then came the bench change. The defense finally shaped up.
Willy Hernangomez was not scheduled to play but once he came on the court, it was a wrap. He scored 14 points and felt the energy of the garden.
Hernangomez spoke to us during the post-game and said he’s ready to play. You can tell that this young man is eager to get more opportunities but this is only the beginning.
The Knicks are on the road as they’re headed to Boston to play the Celtics.
