He is no El Chapo or Pablo Escobar. San Diego Union Tribune report Tijuana club soccer player, Daniel Gomez was charged with importing a controlled substance. That substance would be 48 pounds of meth brought from Mexico.
Gomez, 21, is a US citizen. Gomez was coming in from Mexico at the Otay Mesa border in his Chrysler Seabring told an officer he coming into the US for work. The officer searched his car, and noticed that the spare tire in its trunk had hard spots. They searched his car with an X-ray machine and another officer found that spare tire to be too heavy.
They cut the tire open and found 23 packages made of plastic wrap, carbon paper, cardboard and packing tape. A probe found a crystal substance that later tested positive for meth, court records say.
So what did Gomez have to say about all of this? He was interviewed by special agents from the Department of Homeland Security and he said, that he owned the Chrysler but had traded it away three months ago to an unnamed person, and then traded again to get it back around a month ago, court records say.
Yeah, that’s not going to fly even if it is true especially under this current administration. He was arrested and charged after he said that.
