You guys deserve a round of applause.
Wannabe white woman Sage Steele has consistently been talking out of pocket about black people for the entire time she has been at ESPN.
You helped shed a light on that at let it be known that you simply would not watch NBA Countdown as long as she was the host of the show.
She is no longer the host because of it.
ESPN today announced that Michelle Beadle has been named the full-time host of NBA Countdown on ABC and ESPN. In this role, Beadle will lead the company’s NBA pre-game and halftime shows, including for the NBA Finals on ABC. She will also host ESPN’s and ABC’s studio coverage throughout the NBA Playoffs, which includes ESPN’s exclusive coverage of the Western Conference Finals.
It is unusual for ESPN to make this type of change this late in the season, but Sage’s reputation is so bad in the public they felt they had no choice. If you noticed they didn’t even thank her in the press release.
She hasn’t been fired as of yet, she has been demoted to doing random Sportscenters on the road.
The NBA Finals hosting gig is one of the most important spots at ESPN because they control the coverage of the event (ABC owns ESPN), so by taking Steele off that, ESPN is essentially saying we do not want you to be the face of the company at this marquee event.
They made the right choice, the next right choice will be removing her from the network permanently.
