I think there is a ton of reasons that Steph Curry isn’t as respected as a basketball player as he should be, mostly petty reasons.
You hear them all the time, he seems too perfect, is a just a jump shooter, light skin, sneakers are trash, wife’s ribs not seasoned enough, doesn’t play defense, isn’t built or plays like a genetic freak like LeBron or KD.
None of those reasons are valid and while it is true Kevin Durant is a freak of nature and probably the second best player on the planet, one of the reasons he fit in so well with Warriors is because teams are still deathly afraid of Steph Curry.
Go back and watch Game 1 of the NBA Finals and look at how the lane opened up for KD because the Cavs were scared to leave Steph alone.
Go watch Game 5 where all five Cavs are staring at Steph leaving wide open back door cutters for layups.
Steph Curry isn’t just a good player, he is a great player. A top 5 player in the NBA and that didn’t change because Kevin Durant is on his squad.
The numbers bear this out.
He took a step back to ease in KD and still averaged 25, 7 & 5 while shooting 47% from field, 40% from 3 and 90% from the line.
In the playoffs he actually stepped his game up averaging 28, 7 and 6.
The in the Finals he averaged 27, 9 and 8.
Those aren’t good numbers those are elite numbers. More assists than Kyrie, more rebounds than Tristan Thompson and more points than Kevin Love.
While Kevin Durant earned his MVP and his title, he isn’t in this position without Steph Curry and don’t think he doesn’t know it.

The Baby Face assassin is a Big Dog and like KD you need to put some RESPEK on his name.
