Usually i’m on JR’s side on these things but he’s missing the point with his argument.
Tracy McGrady will be inducted into the basketball Hall of Fame in September with a resume which speaks for itself.
The only thing missing for T-Mac is championship jewelry. Here’s what he had to say on the matter when pressed.
“Social media can give a lot of people voices these days, and the first thing they say is ‘No rings, no rings. You have to have a great team and some luck to get a ring, right? Unfortunately, I wasn’t blessed with that. But I go back at them with this: Anybody can win a championship. Everybody can’t get in the Hall of Fame.”
Many factors play into a championship and sometimes luck is everything, case in point, Michael Jordan denied rings to the following Hall of Famers – Patrick Ewing, John Stockton, Karl Malone, Charles Barkley & Reggie Miller.
A ring validates a player’s career and changes the perception in which they’re viewed. That said….Is Dirk Nowitzki any better a player because JJ Barea put the clamps on LeBron James?
Well JR wasn’t trying to hear all that. Not only does he have a ring but he won it with the greatest comeback in Finals history.
This man really said "anyone can win a ring but not everyone can make it to the Hall Of Fame?" Soooo no one else thinks that dumb as hell???
