As most people know I am one of the biggest Spider-Man fans on the planet.
I had waited most of my childhood and adult life for a Spider-Man movie when Tobey MaGuire started swinging on the big screen.
That original movie got me back into comics, since then I have probably have collected 700 books and renewed one of my childhood hobbies.
Spider-Man 2 if not the best of the earlier Superhero movies, surely had the best fight scene in the genre.

But that was a high note for Spidey.
It went downhill from that moment on and with Marvel producing excellent Superhero movies that didn’t include him, the most famous Marvel superhero became an afterthought in the genre.
Sony finally realized that they were killing the character, so they made a deal with Marvel and that has changed everything. When Spider-Man showed up in Civil War it just seems to make things right and frankly the timeline works as Peter in the comics when he debuted was the youngest Superhero around.
With that being said there was still a heavy amount of skepticism that Marvel could pulled Spider-Man out of his rut with a full length movie.
My skepticism was heighten when I was invited to a screening not in the Marvel lot at Disney but the Sony Entertainment lot in Hollywood.
But, I can tell you with a 100% confidence that you will LOVE this movie and it doesn’t matter if you are a fan of Spider-Man or not. I can’t compare it to other Spider-Man movies because it literally seems like it is two different worlds (if you are familiar with the comics you know that isn’t far-fetched).
If you loved the Tobey MaGuire movies (we don’t count the 3rd one) Homecoming will reenergize the character. It feels like the Spider-Man most people grew up reading and watching in cartoons. which was something that was sorely lacking in all the previous movies.
