I have never been a fan of fraternities.
I know others who are big proponents of them, but in my opinion there is too much of these things that are happening.
Florida State Seminole’s kicker Ricky Aguayo told police after the 2016 rivalry game with the University of Florida Gators he was beaten by members of a fraternity now shuttered following an investigation into the death of one of its pledges.
According to Tallahassee Police records, Aguayo reported being “jumped” in front of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity house on College Avenue over missed field goals during FSU’s 31-13 win against UF.
“He said they were giving him a hard time about missed field goals during the Florida game,” officers wrote in their report. “He said he was rushed by several of the members of the fraternity…and was punched in the face.”
Police noted blood on Aguayo’s face and shirt, which had been ripped, and swelling consistent with being punched.
Witnesses who were driving by during the fight said they had to stop because the ruckus spilled into the street. As they drove by during the scuffle, Aguayo was thrown into the witnesses’ vehicle, they told police.
I wonder what would have happened if they lost the game.
