It’s not every day that a former president of the United States shares your story via social media when reflecting on what has been a difficult year for the country.
That’s exactly what President Obama did when he tweeted the story of Philadelphia Eagles defensive lineman Chris Long per Enrico Campitelli of NBC Sports.
Long was one of the first athletes that spoke out about the white supremacy rally that occurred in Charlottesville earlier in the year. Long also vowed to play the entire 2017 NFL season for free. Long donated his entire salary to causes he felt needed it much more than he did.
A strong supporter of Malcolm Jenkins, the Eagles defensive lineman vows to continue fighting racial and social injustice.
Always great to see athletes who can relate and give something back to their community.
