Conceptually speaking, believe it or not, I see what Brittany is trying to say, she is just the wrong person saying it considering it is likely if she weren’t blonde and white she wouldn’t have any job in media.
Her looks are a big reason she can find work, and she has no problem using those looks to her advantage even going so far to do a little Instagram Modeling herself.
Is that any different than the women going on SI to get their message across? Are more people likely to see the message because it is in a swimsuit issue as opposed to if they were wearing 15 layers of clothes? It is a chicken and the egg type of situation, but once again, Brittany is probably the wrong messenger for this message.
Larry Brown Sports has the tweets.
Why does a woman have to pose nude to feel “empowered”? Isn’t it more empowering to keep your clothes on, go into an office or classroom like everyone else and excel? #SISwimSuit desperately wanting to compete with IG models with gimmicks.

For men to respect women more, maybe women shouldn’t take all their clothes off in the guise of pushing #metoo.

And that goes for men too. I’m not going to take a man more seriously because he strips down and writes words on himself. He might be great to look at, and that’s fine, but come on now…it’s not activism.

We toss around the word respect a lot. Are the women in the SI issue respected less because they took their clothes off? That is a debate that could go on for ages.
