ESPN has a social media policy where you can’t talk about politics or call the President a White Supremacist on Twitter even if that is what he is.
ESPN personalities have found a way to go around that policy, but simply doing interviews approved by ESPN with other networks where they can speak freely about how they feel about what is going on in our society.
Jemele Hill has spoken freely since she left Sportscenter and now Cari Champion speaks to SI about how she felt about Laura Ingraham telling LeBron and Kevin Durant to “Shut Up and Dribble”.
“I was furious, I was angry, I was pissed off,” says Champion. “I was all the things that everybody else was that watched that. She essentially, to me, said, ‘Shut up, n-word.’ I really didn’t like how it came across. It hit my spirits really, really hard. Because that is exactly what LeBron was talking about the entire car ride. That’s exactly what KD was talking about the entire car ride.”
This is exactly what I said when I originally spoke about Ingraham comments.
