Jake Plummer had a solid career while being a member of the Cardinals and Broncos. He recently weighed in on Colin Kaepernick being blackballed by the NFL for kneeling against racism and police brutality.
Per, Nicki Jhabvala of The Denver Post, Plummer said that these NFL teams are scared and are bigoted people who are blackballing him intentionally because they don’ know what it feels to be in his position as someone fighting racism.
“I don’t know if he wants to play for organizations run by scared, kind of bigoted people that don’t understand what it’s like to be in the shoes of someone like him and to see the things he’s seen and relate to the people that go through the atrocities of what everyday people deal with,” said Plummer.
Was talking to Jake Plummer this morning about quarterbacks and free agency and potential fits in Denver. Colin Kaepernick’s name came up, and I asked Plummer if he believed an NFL team would give Kaepernick a chance to play. His response: pic.twitter.com/lstfcQ5ox0

The Broncos are desperately looking for a quarterback and Plummer weighed in on the possibility of Kapernick coming to Denver. He said it would be great but isn’t so sure that it has a real chance of happening.
“I don’t know,” said Plummer. I hope someone does. I would really love it because I love watching him play. I would love to see him come here but I’m not sure if they would do that.”
Seeing current and former professional white athletes acknowlege that racism and police brutality is still a serious problem in America should be commended. Kaepernick still deserves to be on a team. He is the same man who led the 49ers to two straight NFC Championship Games as a starter along with a Super Bowl.
