Despite successful ratings, the Roseanne show reboot has been canceled.
The cancellation comes after a Twitter account called SGTReport posted a story regarding Wikileaks’ Julian Assange and the CIA spying on French presidential candidates during the Obama administration. As right-wing Twitter enjoyed the aspersions cast on the former President, Barr took the opportunity to let her full racist show and likened former Obama’s former staffer Valerie Jarrett to an ape.
As the tweet spread like wildfire, Barr, in disingenuous and predictable fashion, apologized but it wasn’t enough for show producer Wanda Sykes who quit, according to TMZ.
Wanda kept it short and sweet, saying … “I will not be returning to [‘Roseanne’].” The timing is no coincidence, coming within an hour of ‘s apology for calling an Obama adviser the product of “Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes.”
Sykes and Jarrett are reportedly close friends.
This isn’t the first time Barr has referred to black women as apes. Rawstory located a 2013 tweet where she refers to another former Obama staffer Susan Rice as having “big swinging ape balls.”
At the time of writing, CNN Money now reports that ABC has pulled the plug on the show.
“Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show,” ABC said.
