Cavs are down 0-2 to the Warriors for the second year in a row.
While basketball is a definitely team sport, it’s hard not to be giving J.R. Smith the side-eye right now because he apparently did not know the score of the game in the final seconds of Game 1, and J.R. is only averaging 4 points per game in the NBA Finals.
In fact, in the last decade of Game 1 and 2 averages in the NBA finals, that places J.R. Smith in last, second-to-last, and third-to-last place:
- 2016 – 1.5 points per game – J.R. Smith (70 minutes)
- 2015 – 2.4 points per game – J.R. Smith (73 minutes)
- 2018 – 4.0 points per game – J.R. Smith (70 minutes)
After Head Coach Tyronn Lue good a look at these numbers, he came to one quick solution—go to the Hood:
We’re going to give Rodney a chance…He’ll get a shot and see how he does.
Safe to say, Cleveland is desperate for anyone not named LeBron or Kevin Love to literally do anything versus the Warriors.
Anything.
