A week ago NBA champion Kevin Durant took back the throne of being the most insecure NBA player we have ever seen. The 29 year old superstar has a reputation for letting social media get the better of him. Around September of last year it leaked that Kevin Durant had multiple burner accounts that he used to defend himself on Twitter and Instagram.
Now this year, Kevin Durant threw aside the burner accounts and decided to use his real insta to attack an 18 year old’s Instagram post for a photo that he was tagged in. Again, just as before, the backlash that Durant got for this was huge after Durant told the Author to “Sweep ya dorm room” and than went after the Author in the DM’s to make sure that he knew Durant did not like him or his photo.
A week later after all the backlash in the media, Kevin Durant went back into the DM’s to apologize to the Author. Durant told him that he was happy for all the attention that the Author’s Instagram page got and than proceeded to have an actual basketball conversation with him.
The Author said that talking to Durant, and learning how his basketball mind works, was one of the greatest experiences he has ever had. He also truly appreciated Durant taking the time to do the right thing.
Will Kevin Durant continue to be a force not only on the basketball court but on Social Media? Or could this be the moment KD finally tackles his insecurities and decides to stay away from Social Media?
