Throughout the legal process that put Meek Mill in prison for six months, Judge Genece Brinkley showed clear bias against him. From wanting him to make a Boyz II Men cover single to asking him to change his management to people she knew instead, the case was corrupt from the start. Popping wheelies shouldn’t even have been grounds for violation of probation.
Now according to The Source, even Brinkley’s lawyer Charles Peruto Jr. was seen on tape defending Meek and his defense team about how the case was being handled. This tape will be used in a documentary about the case made by Roc Nation and Amazon. Peruto Jr. also added that Brinkley looked “f****** awful.” He added that Meek should’ve received a new trial.
Peruto Jr is now not agreeing or denying that he was defending Meek.
“Tape or no tape, I don’t believe I said it. If I said something off the record, it should not be on the transcript.”
Brinkley brought Peruto Jr. on board because Meek’s attorney Joe Tacopina was going to take legal action against her for the way she was treating Meek. It’ll be interesting to see how Roc Nation and Amazon puts this film together and if any new details emerge on Brinkley’s corruption in this case.
