Hospitals in New Haven had been flooded with more than 70 people after overdosing on a dangerous “drug”. I say “drug” because we’re not talking about cocaine, heroin, meth, ecstasy, or “THE WEED” as Steven A. Smith would say. Ladies and gentlemen the fine people of New Haven have overdosed on a bad batch of “Spice” or “K2” laced with Fentanyl. Essentially this synthetic version of marijuana mimics the effects of marijuana as reported by New Haven Register. Witness testimony of the overdose sound like a scene from a zombie movie.
Jose Diaz said he and a friend called 911 after they saw a man experiencing overdose-like symptoms. “All I know is that he was sitting on the chair first, then on the ground, back on the chair and then back on the ground, shaking like crazy.”
The overdose is at the point where New Haven had to dispatch local officers and firefighters stop people from purchasing the bad batch.
“We are asking people to not come down to the Green to purchase what is K2. Clearly there is a bad batch,” Campbell said. Officers and firefighters will be on Upper and Lower Green to deter people from trying to purchase the potentially fatal batch of synthetic weed.“We really need to get to the heart of where this is coming from and who’s distributing and make arrests,” he said
With drugs continuing to be a nationwide problem in areas rich and poor Alder Richard Furlow,D-27 has a close-minded view on the situation.
“Well, this is terrifying; it’s terrifying, but this is not exclusive to New Haven.“This is an urban problem, and it’s nationwide,” he said.
Now you probably have a vision in your head reading this of what a guy named Richard Furlow who uses coding like “urban problem” to describe a situation like this may look like, but you will be surprised at his appearance.
