Maryland Mayor Jeannine James left her true feelings on the new Nike Campaign on her FaceBook page according to RawStory.com, and it wasn’t received how she thought it would be.
La Plata Mayor Jeannine James wrote on her personal Facebook page: “Nike selected Colin Kaepernick as the new face of the company’s ‘Just Do It’ campaign. How disappointing. #BoycottNike.”
James was immediately informed by many on her page that they did not agree with her very narrow and some could view as a racist opinion, here is how she tried to spin it.
“The damage is already done. You divided La Plata and had your community attacking each other for a ‘social experiment.’ You don’t manipulate people in that way,” one person responded.
To be fair I will give her credit for being quick on her feet with a completely bogus explanation, but as a resident of La Plata, you should be thoroughly disrespected at the level of intelligence she thinks her community posses. Shamelessly James says she has no regrets about the post and gives this advice to her students.
“One of the things that I always teach my students is ‘Say it, forget it, write it, regret it,’” said James. “When it’s in print or in the media, it can always be found.”
Hopefully, in the near future, she learns to how to take her own advice. Click here and check out her “social experiment” blow up in her face.
