Imagine someone like Britt McHenry who only struggles in life was having her car towed and she couldn’t even handle that professionally having the audacity to use Martin Luther King’s name to slam Colin Kaepernick.
That is PEAK “White Privilege,” ignorance and downright trash behavior.
Martin Luther King’s daughter Bernice King very eloquently explained why.
Britt: Colin is not protesting the anthem, but racism, which continues to plague our nation & world. My father was devoted to eradicating racism & expressed concern about white moderates who are “more devoted to order than to justice.” I invite you to study #MLK @TheKingCenter. https://t.co/L5AUGflWEt

McHenry deleted the tweet but here is what she said.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. believed in something and made many sacrifices over the course of his life – including giving up his life when he was assassinated – in the fight against racism and for equal rights for all Americans.
Members of the military who died defending our country – or who lost limbs when they stepped on an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan or Iraq – sacrificed everything. Many of those still alive are unable to kneel in disrespect on a football field like Kaepernick – and wouldn’t want to even if they could.
You have probably also seen people use Pat Tillman, Muhammad Ali and fallen soldiers to take shots at Colin Kaepernick and that frankly makes me sick to my stomach.
Particular Pat Tillman.
Tillman decided to fight for this country and give up his NFL career. In the end, though he wondered if the government truly believed in the same things he believed in. His motivations were pure, but the government was not, and he expressed that many times.
When he was killed in a friendly fire accident, the government tried to cover it up and caused irreparable pain for his family.
When Donald Trump attempted to use Tillman as a prop to fuel his racist agenda that is what the Tillman family and friends begged him and others not to do.
A fellow soldier in the Ranger Regiment told Krakauer about a conversation he had with Tillman in 2003. “[Tillman] said, ‘If get killed, I don’t want Bush to parade me through the streets to use as a political tool,’ ” Krakauer said. “And of course, that’s what Bush did.”
Twisting Tillman’s death into political messaging occurred immediately after he died, Krakauer said.
Last fall, Trump invoked Tillman’s death to criticize Kaepernick for kneeling.
Soon after, Tillman’s widow, Marie, asked people not to use her husband’s service to silence others.
“As a football player and soldier, Pat inspired countless Americans to unify,” Marie said. “It is my hope that his memory should always remind people that we must come together.”
“Pat’s service, along with that of every man and woman’s service, should never be politicized in a way that divides us. We are too great of a country for that,” she wrote, subtly invoking Trump’s “make America great again” slogan.
“Those that serve fight for the American ideals of freedom, justice and democracy,” she wrote. “They and their families know the cost of that fight. I know the very personal costs in a way I feel acutely every day. The very action of self expression and the freedom to speak from one’s heart — no matter those views — is what Pat and so many other Americans have given their lives for. Even if they didn’t always agree with those views.”
Tillman’s statement concluded: “It is my sincere hope that our leaders both understand and learn from the lessons of Pat’s life and death, and also those of so many other brave Americans.”
MAGA likes to talk about respect, but they don’t respect anyone’s wishes even the widow of a dead hero.
It isn’t unusual for racist white people to used dead people to further their agenda of hate, racism, and inequality. Excuse my language, but they don’t give a sh*t about Pat Tillman or Ali, all they care about is being users and abusers of their memory.
They should be ashamed of themselves, but they aren’t because they are so self-absorbed and hate anyone who doesn’t look like them they are willing to say or do anything to keep that hate rising.
For people like Brett McHenry or Clay Travis, they are willing to use anyone if it gets them their next appearance of Fox News or more MAGA people to come to their trash website.
There are things in media that aren’t that serious or worth arguing about, but a white privileged woman or man speaking like they understand what Martin Luther King ent through is not something to joke about.
So, just know if you do that when you look in the mirror you are the worst human being on the planet and karma will catch up with you.
