The man responsible for pulling the trigger in a murder-for-hire plot was found guilty involving two women and a man they had in common.
Dallas News reports that Kristopher Love was convicted of capital murder in the killing Kendra Hatcher, a dentist, at the behest of Brenda Delgado, the ex-lover of Hatcher’s boyfriend. Love’s legal team said during the trial it was a robbery gone bad, not a murder plot. Love also maintains that his companion Crystal Cortes was the shooter.
Hatcher, 35, was shot in the head on Sept. 2, 2015, in the parking garage of her Uptown apartment.
Within days, authorities were investigating whether 36-year-old Brenda Delgado had hired a hit man to kill Hatcher. They say Delgado was jealous of Hatcher’s relationship with Delgado’s ex-boyfriend, Ricardo Paniagua.
Delgado’s ex-boyfriend Paniagua testified on the first day of the trial about his increasingly serious relationship with Hatcher, whom he had started dating in May 2015. He said they had set up a wedding fund that August and were scheduled to leave town for a vacation in Mexico on Sept. 3, 2015.
