Fortnite continues to be one of the most popular video games out and has some unique features. One of those was the ability to add different “skins” to someone’s character and many used NFL jerseys.
Fortnite announced that users could install NFL jerseys for $8-20 last week but is now doing away with this, according to SportsBusiness Journal’s Daniel Kaplan. Reports say that the short-term announcement was already known from the jump.
The NFL-Fortnite deal is still on despite removing the skins. Many users went too far with these skins as some added a Michael Vick character with a dog and Aaron Hernandez with a gun.
“The execution here around the outfits being in the store for a limited time was all completely planned,” said a source close to Kaplan. “If you know ‘Fortnite,’ you know this is normal course of business for special skins that go in and out of their store. I can say the jerseys will definitely be back this season.”
Fans were definitely childish on their part for the charcters they created with NFL skins. Luckily, the skins will likely make their return soon.
