Uncle Snoop to the rescue!
Kevin Hart recently decided to step down from hosting the Oscars after past homophobic tweets surfaced.
“I have made the choice to step down from hosting this year’s Oscar’s,” the comedian announced on Thursday (Dec. 6). “This is because I do not want to be a distraction on a night that should be celebrated by so many amazing talented artists. I sincerely apologize to the LGBTQ community for my insensitive words from my past. I’m sorry that I hurt people… I am evolving and want to continue to do so. My goal is to bring people together not tear us apart. Much love & appreciation to the Academy. I hope we can meet again.”
Hart previously announced that he would host the 91st Academy Awards for the first time next year.
While Hart received backlash from social media and LGBT advocacy groups for not apologizing sooner, Snoop Dogg has come to his defense, via Rap-Up.
Smoking a blunt in an Instagram video, the rapper shared his support for Hart. He also offered some advice to Hart, even suggesting alternatives to hosting the Oscars.
