It is always a positive to shine a light on predators, but the media itself is a predator and if they see something that works where they can make a lot of money on it they are going to do it.
I won’t be shocked if a lot of the Surviving style documentaries come out in the next year or so spotlighting both dead and alive celebrities and musicians.
Michael Jackson is up next.
Michael Jackson’s estate is slamming a new documentary making allegations of sexual abuse by the late singer … by calling out the doc’s producers for what it says is a clear attempt to exploit Michael when it premieres at Sundance.
MJ’s estate tells TMZ … “This is yet another lurid production in an outrageous and pathetic attempt to exploit and cash in on Michael Jackson.”
The doc, titled “Leaving Neverland,” is set to premiere at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival, and it reportedly accuses Michael of sexually abusing two young boys.
The estate is trying to get it to shut down, but it is likely too late.
Michael Jackson paid his accusers a lot of money for their silence ($23 million). He went to trial in 2003 after being accused a second time and was found not guilty of all charges. Even after his death, he has been accused of child molestation charges that some people believe and others think is extortion.
He always denied he had an inappropriate relationship with his accusers. This isn’t the first documentary about this in 2005 one came out as well.
