If you are a true hoop head, then you’d know all about Austin Rivers’ clout when he was coming out of High School. The former Duke recruit was already the son of a NBA player and a NBA Championship Head Coach, on top of being one of the #1 rated PGs in the country. His highlights were littered all over Youtube and Twitter.
Apparently, prior to entering the NCAA, Austin Rivers was feeling himself just as much as the college coaches were too. In fact, as Kevin Garnett hilariously explained, Austin was actually at the Boston Celtics practice one day, and Austin was challenging some of the NBA guys to 1-on-1. According to KG, Austin actually waxed Kendrick Perkins, 5-0 in 1-on-1.
However, Garnett goes on to say that Austin had the nerve to challenge him after beating Big Perk. At that point, as you’d expect for someone with a personality like KG’s, all bets were off.
