WBA super featherweight world champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis is no stranger to police. Five months ago, the 24-year old was arrested in Washington D.C. for a fist fight in the streets. This time, he may have fought a police officer.
According to TMZ, Davis is under investigation after an alleged physical altercation with an officer at a upscale Virginia mall. A witness said that it all started at an ATM when Davis started shouting at a man and cops were called on February 17. Davis became more hostile when the police showed up.
That’s when, one person claims, Davis’ friends tried to hold Davis back after he shoved an officer. He was not arrested after the incident but the Fairfax County Police Dept. confirm there was an “interaction” and “encounter” with Davis.
The investigation is ongoing.
Davis is considered Floyd Mayweathers’ protege and claims he set up Davis’s next fight against his former opponent Tenshin Nasukawa.
