Jussie Smollett has put his career in jeopardy in 2019. He staged a fake hate crime against him using two actors who now supposedly can’t find any acting work because of the incident. Smollett was also hit in March with 16 felony counts for filing a false police report but those charges ended up shockingly getting dropped.
Cast members of Empire recently sent in a letter to creators at Fox of the hit TV series saying that Smollett should return. It was recently announced that he won’t be back for season six but cast members, including Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard, aren’t giving up on him just yet. According to TMZ, they’re still vouching for Smollett as a person and a key component of Empire.
The cast added that his return to the show won’t hurt ratings at all. Smollett also has an extension through the six season but for now, still hasn’t gotten the green light to be part of the show again. A possible Smollett return could draw a lot of criticism but the cast could overlook that to get their friend back. It’s gonna be interesting to see how everything plays out over the summer.
