NBA free agency begins this week and no one knows exactly where players will be signing.
One of the key free agents this year is Kyrie Irving. We’ve heard rumors all year about him teaming up with KD in New York or reuniting with Lebron in LA.
However, as of late, the team he has been strongly linked with is the Brooklyn Nets.
These rumors only intensified when Kyrie parted ways with his agent and reportedly had the interest to sign with Roc Nation Sports. The sports agency which is owned by Jay-Z the former part owner of the Brooklyn Nets amongst other things.
This had Stephen A Smith all fired up during his interview with NetsDaily.
“I was told he was gonna go wherever KD [Kevin Durant] went — and KD was the guy. And KD was strongly considering New York. If you’re talking about Kyrie on his own, then the chances of him landing in Brooklyn are exponentially higher. With Kyrie I’m not sure. He’s talking to KD one minute, Kobe the next minute, we don’t know what the hell he’s going to do, but right now it’s an issue for the Knicks”
Don’t worry Knick fans, you still have a better of landing Kyrie than him resigning with the Celtics.
It appears though Kyrie to Nets is a done deal.
Several sources —on several occasions— have told NetsDaily that Kyrie Irving is likely headed to Brooklyn, one source saying it sounds like a “done deal”. Another source tied to the Nets believes there is already a verbal agreement in place.
