The Utah Jazz have had a pretty good offseason acquiring Mike Conley and Bojan Bogdanovich to become what some believe are a contender in the Western Conference. They still want to add another wing player to guard the likes of LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard, and Paul George. This would be the perfect situation for free agent Thabo Sefolosha right? Not according to his wife Bertille Sefolosha.
After two seasons in Utah she has told her husband not to re-sign with the Utah Jazz because she has not enjoyed her time in Utah due to political reasons via NZZ.
“Sefolosha’s wife had suffered in the conservative state, in which rigid moral concepts are widespread, and could not develop. During her career she has always put her own interests and needs behind her and made great sacrifices,” says Sefolosha. “Now she has spoken out against another engagement in Salt Lake City. Compared to the past few years, when Sefolosha had to make similar decisions about his sporting future, he now involves the family much more in the planning.”
Sounds like it Thabo’s turn to put her career first but, if no one else comes calling will it still be happy wife happy life? Hopefully, Thabo can find a place to play and keep his wife happy. Maybe LA is more her speed?
