Sunday the LA Dodgers played the Atlanta Braves. The Braves won the game 5-3, but their superstar Ronald Acuña Jr was the talk of the game. As he was taken out the game by manager Brian Snitker for “not running out the box”
Acuña Jr thought he had a HR hit which is why he didn’t sprint out of the box. But the ball dropped just short of a HR. When Ronald realized it wasn’t a homer he did sprint it out to first base.
After the inning Snitker called Acuña Jr to the end of the dugout to apparently inform him that he was being taken out of the game. In a post game interview Ronald responded to the incident.
There’s no excuse for it. I just kind of took it and said ‘Of course.’ He’s the manager, I’m the player and I’ll respect his decisions.
Some people and even teammates are giving Ronald the benefit of the doubt because they seen that he thought it was a home run. Which hints him trotting instead of the sprint you would see normally.
