It is very difficult to understand context when you are just reading quotes and people are paraphrasing. That is why I like to wait until we have full video to understand what someone is trying to say before passing any judgment.
I can tell you that this video isn’t going to change people’s minds depending on what side of the fence they are on, but at least you can see where Jay Z’s head is at with the partnership.
If you believe that anything that the NFL does is fraudulent while they are blackballing Kap, then nothing Jay Z says is going to sway you.
His overall point is one that is shared though by many, the kneeling and actions of Kaepernick has brought a ton of awareness, so it is time to take the next step.
The real question is do you ignore the actionable help from the organization you believe is causing the problem and how sincere is that help?
It is like if Trump getting an award from NAACP (which has happened before).
Jay Z believes the NFL is sincere and considering the control they are giving him, he feels he can do a lot of good with the resources that will be available to him.
Eric Reid, Nessa, Kaepernick and others disagree. They feel this is just a business move and the social justice aspect is just being used as PR.
I think until you see what Jay Z does with the opportunity the jury is still out. The NFL could really help themselves in all this, if a team just brought Kaepernick in, but that likely isn’t happening.
