Are the Miami Dolphins looking to move on from Kenny Stills?
According to MSN, the outspoken wide receiver could potentially be on his way out of South Florida. Just a day after head coach Brian Flores issued a challenge for Stills to block out the outside (aka Jay-Z discography) noise, the Dolphins may be looking for suitors to take him off of their hands. Other veteran players could be made available as well, including LB Kiko Alonso.
Stills has been in the headlines for the majority of training camp after first challenging team owner Stephen Ross’ hypocrisy for holding a Trump fundraiser. He and Ross had a discussion last week on the topic and agreed to disagree, per Stills. Coach Flores’ used a Jedi-mind track earlier in the week by playing back to back Jay-Z songs in an attempt to raise his level of play. Flores, initially appearing to be at odds with the WR, clarified he wants to bring the best out of him and spoke on his experiences with stop and frisk and overall police brutality as a black man growing up in Brooklyn.
It’s unclear if there’s a viable market for Stills, as he has yet to have a break 1,000 yards in a season. With the underwhelming QB committee of Ryan Fitzpatrick and Josh Rosen tasked to get him the rock, it’s unlikely that’ll change while he’s in Miami. If the experiences from his other close allies Eric Reid and Colin Kaepernick are any indication, team destinations may be few and far between.
A fresh start with a supportive front office, if that exists in the NFL, may just be the change Kenny needs.
