Another day, another case of blatant racism. This time it was high school athletes that attend Pacifica High School In Garden Grove, California.
The 10 athletes are on the water polo team and were at an awards ceremony when they decided to sing a Nazi marching song that was played during WWII for Nazi troops and doing the Nazi heil Hitler salute.
The incident happened last year In November and the school found out four months in March. It’s not known if and how the student were disciplined but a spokesperson for the school said they did handle it.
However, according to The Daily Beast a parent of a student at the school and a current student told them that they didn’t think the school has handled the situation and the student says they don’t know if the students were suspended.
Besides the obvious problem of racism, there are two more big issues. One, the students didn’t just happen to know this song. It’s not played on the radio or anything. They had to go out of their way to learn the lyrics somehow.
The second, parents and students don’t know or don’t feel like the school handled the situation. If it’s not clearly known or felt that the situation was handled, that gives someone else an do something similar or worse.
