Former Steelers guard Sam Davis, who was a part of the Steelers Dynasty in the ’70s that produced four Super Bowl champions, passed away on Tuesday.
Davis’ body was found at the New Life Personal Care home after being missing for 14 hours. No criminal or suspicious activity is suspected regarding this incident.
Davis was the starting left guard in the NFL for 13 seasons, and on the Steelers form 1970 to 1979, earning four Super Bowl rings during his tenure.
The Steelers released a statement on Davis’ passing:
We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Sam Davis. Sam was a member of the Steelers teams that won four Super Bowls in the 1970s, including starting at left guard in Super Bowls XIII and XIV. A member of our 50th Season All-Time Team, he played 13 seasons and was beloved and respected by his Steelers teammates, coaches, and staff.”
Davis was 75.
