It wasn’t quite the magical, Disney, storybook wedding for Eric Cardova and Ashley Jordan. The bride, still dressed in her wedding gown, and groom spent their wedding night in prison following a vicious brawl in which they assaulted police officers . The details are something else courtesy of Daily Mail.
Ashley Jordan, 30, and her new husband husband Eric Cordova, 32, of Chino Valley, Arizona, spent their first night as a married couple in jail after reportedly assaulting police officers on Saturday.Police were called to reports of a disorderly woman wearing a wedding dress who tried to assault an employee of a local business, according to a statement. When officers turned up, the groom became aggressive and refused to cooperate, according to authorities.
As the newlywed husband was restrained, he fell to the ground with an officer causing members of the wedding party to get involved in the struggle, police said. Ms Jordan then reportedly pushed a police officer before slapping them in the face, Arizona Central reports.
The couple, who got married earlier in the day, were detained and spent the night in Yavapai County jail on charges of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Dustin Trout, 31, of Tempe and Amos Puckett, 25, of Nevada, were also arrested during the incident – where two police officers received minor injuries.
It turns out a wedding dress and ring doesn’t give you immunity to assault a police officer.
