The XFL might have a nice pool of players, but those players might soon start to decline in quality.
Why? Well, the XFL is in trouble for lying about the salaries each player was slated to have.
The initial salary that players were told is low, way lower than the league minimum the NFL offers.
Now, that initial salary is said to be close. With the real salary being lower than the original one. This hasn’t caused many players to back out of the league, but it has caused one to step away.
Corey Vereen, drafted by the Los Angeles Wildcats, has announced he’s pulling out of the XFL for being lied to about the starting salary.
Vereen’s exit could start a domino effect for other players in the XFL, as the salary just might not be worth it for such a violent game as football.
The XFL kicks off on February 8th, 2020.
