If the Browns were competing for a Super Bowl I could understand this, but considering their season isn’t going anywhere, this was pretty cruel.
Chris Smith is dealing with a horrific tragedy and this is how the Browns made it worse.
Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens acknowledged on Wednesday the decision to waive defensive end Chris Smith was more difficult than normal considering the circumstances.
The Browns waived the veteran lineman on Tuesday. Smith’s girlfriend, Petara Cordero, was struck and killed by a driver on the highway in Cleveland on Sept. 11 after Smith’s vehicle hit a median. Cordero and Smith exited the vehicle and another car struck the passenger side door and then Cordero.
Their daughter, Haven Harris Smith, was four weeks old at the time.
Just a trash decision by the Browns, but it is expected from them. I know it is business, but how do you think the rest of the team thinks about them, do you think the Ravens would do anything like this?
