Carmelo Anthony is back in the NBA.
His successful return as a member of the Portland Trail Blazers has been one of the best feel good stories of the young NBA season.
Anthony, who has already won a Western Conference Player of The Week award, was, of course, a member of the New York Knicks for 7 seasons, and if he had his way would love to have his number 7 jersey eventually retired in the Big Apple.
The Blazers forward, speaking with the New York Post, was asked if he has thought about having his jersey retired in New York, Anthony responded,
“Do I think about it? Anybody would want to get that opportunity if it’s there. We’ll see when that time comes. Hopefully, they’ll hang ‘7’ somewhere up there.”
Anthony, who scored 16 points in a Tuesday win against his former Knicks, has played well in his return and it remains to be seen if his hometown Knicks decide to retire his jersey once his hall of fame career is finished.
