ESPN anchor, Stuart Scott, passed away from his fight with cancer back in January 2015 and it was a huge loss to the sports community. He was only 49. Scott was one of the best to ever do it at ESPN and his “cool as the other side of the pillow” line was just as iconic as he was.
Now, ESPN will continue to pay homage to Scott in a very classy way as December 4 will officially be “Stuart Scott Day,” according to The Wrap. On this day, ESPN will post content of Scott’s battle with cancer. This is part of the network’s 13th annual “V Week for Cancer Research.” This coverage will air from December 3-14.
ESPN will be sending funds driven from the V Foundation for Cancer Research for cancer research and related programs. Scott is a legend in the broadcasting industry and it’s fitting that he’s given his own day by ESPN. Flip the page for his 2014 Jimmy V Award acceptance speech.
