This past weekend, I put out a Tennessee Titans free agency wishlist, giving you all a general idea of which players the Titans should strongly considering putting in two tone blue.
Now, I’m here to give you the good ole juicy stuff, the type of content that you rush to read this time of year.
You know those awful, boring days at work? The ones where you seemingly can’t find anything to help you slack off during the day? Even during lunch, you’re stuck eating your crappy food with nothing to talk about or distract yourself with….ah you know what this analogy doesn’t work, who cares anymore.
Free agency predictions! Everyone loves to see where the marquee names are predicted to go. Predictions can’t compare to scrolling across Twitter and seeing Adam Schefter drop an absolute nuke, but it helps soothe the rather mysterious craving for official, accurate free agency news.
Ugh, forget all my yapping, let’s just get on to the predictions, in which I’ll disclose where I think the top marquee names at EVERY position will wind up.
Quarterbacks
Tom Brady- Patriots
After thinking about it for countless hours, and sleeping on it……I still believe Tom Brady will remain a New England Patriot. Like seriously, there are people out there who believe Tom Brady would leave that football heaven. He’s a damn legend there, so much of a legend that I firmly believe that if a religion was started and Brady was God, that religion would have a concerning cult following
I mean dude come on, Bob Kraft will literally do ANYTHING for Brady.
In this case, it means finding better weapons on the outside for his 42-year-old superstar.
The new home crap in Connecticut? It isn’t a big deal.
He’s not going to Tennessee to learn a new offense, he’s not going to Tampa to play Drew Brees twice a year, he’s definitely not going to Las Vegas to play Patrick Mahomes twice a year.
If I believed in the nuisance known as betting, I’d put a considerable amount of money on Brady playing in a Patriots uniform once the 2020 NFL season kicks off.
You can’t change my mind.
Drew Brees- Saints
Brees seriously contemplated retirement this offseason, but he’s back for another year in the Big Easy.
Nothing further.
Ryan Tannehill- Titans
I believe Tannehill will find his way back to Tennessee, whether that’s on a long term deal, or by the means of the franchise tag.
Question though.
Why in the world would the Titans walk away from Tannehill? Especially after the historic year Tannehill had in 2019?
It makes zero sense to do so.
You bring Tannehill back, place him back under center, and see if he can keep it up.
Now I’m a big believer in regression, so much that at one point, I thought giving him a long term deal seemed ridiculous. But like everyone else, I have my moments of deep thought. I still stand on the franchise Tannehill side, but I convinced myself that giving him a long term deal isn’t so crazy.
The Titans should absolutely do the right thing, and bring back Ryan Tannehill.
Philip Rivers- Colts
This move has been trending more and more as the offseason has gone along, so I’ll keep this one relatively short.
Jacoby Brissett isn’t cutting it for the Colts, and the Colts have the foundation to support an aging Philip Rivers.
Match made in heaven.
Now there’s still some work to be done.
Outside of T.Y. Hilton, the Colts don’t have a great deal of consistency and production at wide receiver, so acquiring a respectable WR2 is something Chris Ballard will most certainly look to accomplish, whether that’s in free agency or in the draft.
