In a story that keeps getting more bizarre as more information is revealed, New York Giants’ cornerback claims he was playing Madden when all the commotion started. Apparently Baker was oblivious to the house party and subsequent robbery that was taking place in the adjacent room. His lawyers are claiming he was targeted because of his status and wealth:
“Far from an individual who’s going somewhere with an alleged intent to rob somebody, an armed robbery, to go there and hook up his ‘Madden’ game, play the game for over an hour and then leave it there and go home,’’ Patrick Patel, one of Baker’s attorneys, told The Post on Tuesday.
It’s very critical that the facts continue to pour as the 22-year-old baller could see not only his playing career end but also a suspension of his freedom. Baker is facing 4 counts of an armed robbery that carries a mandatory minimum of 15 years in prison.
His lawyer also claims they have witnesses that will clear Baker and he was the one who was the actual victim here.
The cops have 60 days to decide if they want to continue to pursue the case.
