Ever since the protests stemming from the deaths of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, we have seen police attack peaceful protestors for absolutely nothing.
Portland, Oregon who is in the middle of a 50+ day protest streak, has had some of the worse cases of police brutalities during these protests. One woman, who has been named “Naked Athena” is trying to prove a point during these protests.
During Saturday’s protest, Naked Athena walked towards police wearing nothing but a beanie and a mask and dared the to shoot tear gas or rubber bullets at her like they do the other protesters. Police, who were in riot gear and in no danger whatsoever, then proceeded to fire pepper balls at her feet.
A man then tried to shield her but she moved to the side and proceeded to do yoga poses.
Police couldn’t arrest her for being nude in public because according to Oregon law, it is only illegal to be nude in public if you’re trying to arouse someone and she clearly wasn’t.
