The Indiana Pacers head into the 2020-21 NBA training camp with one issue that can prevent them from becoming a threat in the Eastern Conference. Unfortunately it’s injuries and we have yet to see what the Pacers are capable of if 100 percent healthy this upcoming season.
Injuries are a part of the game and when Domantas Sabonis left the NBA bubble mid-July for treatment of plantar fasciitis in his left foot, the team became vulnerable and were swept by the Miami Heat in the first-round of the NBA Playoffs.
Pacers president Kevin Pritchard addressed the organization’s approach on Sabonis health.
“We’ll have to watch the foot a little bit. There might be some times that we have to sit him out some. But as of now, we’re expecting him (to be) full at practice,” per the IndyStar.
Sabonis averaged 18.5 points, 12.4 rebounds and ranked in the top five for double-doubles last season. The Pacers big man also made his first NBA All-Star team and will emerge as a key piece for the Pacers success going forward.
