Caris LeVert spoke with BSO and media members on his transition from Brooklyn to Indianapolis after traded in a four-team deal (Brooklyn, Houston, Cleveland and Indiana).
LeVert also confirmed he’s still waiting on details about the mass he discovered on his left kidney.
Since the arrival, Levert has been excited about immersing himself in the Pacers culture with a group of guys ready for him to play.
“I’m wearing No. 22 when I make it back to the court and I’m very…very…very extremely blessed to be playing for such a great organization. Great city…a basketball city. Like I said I’m from the Midwest so I know what Indiana basketball is all about,” LeVert told BSO.
“I played here a couple times in college for the Big Ten Tournament. I love the atmosphere here, I love the fans here and you know they love their basketball.”
With Myles Turner and T. J. Warren sidelined from injuries, the Pacers are without three starters and are trying to figure out how put the pieces together. LeVert is an essential piece replacing Victor Oladipo with his ability to score and create at a high level.
LeVert this season during his time with Brooklyn Nets averaged 18.5 points and six assists. In practice analyzing the Pacers offensive schemes, Levert was on the sidelined accompanied by head coach Nate Bjorkgren on his condition.
“I actually spoke with him yesterday in the hotel here in Indianapolis. He was here at practice today with everybody. Spirits are great…very…very good individual I mean just his character,” Bjorkgren said.
“We’re in the beginning stages with it and he was at practice today watching and learning as we speak.”
The Indiana Pacers are once again struck with injuries and we have yet to see this team for an entire season at full strength.
