The hip hop game continues to lose member after member to senseless violence. According to reports from his family, 20-year-old Memphis rapper ‘Baby/Big CEO’ passed away last night, three years to the death of Fredo Santana, his mentor.
The day started with rumors swirling of an overdose, but then quickly transitioned to the young rapper being murdered. BandPlay, one of CEO’s producers, seemed to confirm the shooting with a tweet meant to walk back media outlets reporting on the false overdose.
Baby CEO / Big CEO’s producer and friend BandPlay confirms he was shot and killed on Tuesday night, and DID NOT overdose as reported by some media outlets. RIP CEO 🕯@iAMBANDPLAY pic.twitter.com/TnLpIxrraA

Several hours ago, CEO’s older brother posted a link on Twitter to a Fox 13 Memphis article providing coverage of a homicide of an unnamed man in the Fraser section of the city.
Rest Up Lil Bra. 💔 https://t.co/gyfk4DuXqG
