Black History Month is important and with a state like Utah, it’s no surprise the racist chip was activated within Maria Montessori Academy.
Now that white parents were put in check, the academy is prepared to educate students on the challenges Black America continues to deal with.
Director Micah Hirokawa recently endorsed the idea to allow parents to opt-out allowing their kids to learn African American history.
“We should not shield our children from the history of our Nation, the mistreatment of its African American citizens, and the bravery of civil rights leaders, but should educate them about it,” Hirokawa said, via The Hill.
Now that Hirokawa has some sense, this still doesn’t take away from the antics given it would piss Black people off. If the true history of Blacks aren’t taught as opposed to the cliche, those kids will be deceived like everyone else.
