T-Pain has started to gain a huge buzz again this year, after revealing that his Instagram DMs were flooded with celebrities who wanted to work with him. Pain believed that this wasn’t the case before though, because these DMs ended up being filtered into a different folder.
Yesterday, an interview was released, where T-Pain came out and said that Usher wasn’t a fan of his auto-tune flow, when he first used it. Usher supposedly went as far as telling Pain that he “f*cked up music” with the use of auto-tune. Pain ended up adding that this comment resulted in a four-year battle with depression.
Now, Pain is coming out in defense of Usher, and making it known that there is no animosity. He emphasized that this latest interview did not intend to disrespect Usher, he was just detailing what he was going through at the time.”
“I still love and respect @Usher. Telling that story was in no way meant to disrespect that man. Ppl talk shit about me 24/7 but when it comes from someone you truly respect it hits very different. I never said f*ck Ursh it was a drop in the ocean of shit I was already goin through.”
It’s unfortunate that T-Pain went through these moments in his life after that Usher comment, but thankfully, he seems to be in a much better place now. It’ll also be interesting to see if this results in a collaboration with Usher.
