This season with the Wizards, Russell Westbrook continued to show why he’s still one of the most dominant players in the league. He was a triple double machine again this season, as he finished with an average of 22 points, 11 assists and 11 rebounds per game. Westbrook also broke the record for most career triple doubles, with 182.
The Wizards also signed Wes Unseld Jr as their new head coach, last week. Westbrook is now also in the midst of trade rumors, as the Lakers could be one to throw an offer.
According to Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated, a sign-and-trade is likely. Here, this would include Dennis Schroder, Kyle Kuzma, and Talen Horton-Tucker.
“There have also been talks about Washington Wizards star Russell Westbrook being a potential candidate to move back home to Los Angeles in a sign-and-trade deal that could include free agent point guard Dennis Schroder, forward Kyle Kuzma and guard Talen Horton-Tucker, sources said,” explained Spears.
If this deal does go down, the Lakers would remain contenders out West for sure. Westbrook would be joining two top 10 players in the NBA in LeBron James and Anthony Davis. LA went down in five games in the first round of the playoffs to the Suns, after losing AD to injury.
