BSO sources are telling me that Ben Simmons will be likely be traded to T-Wolves this week.
The team and his teammates tried to make a last-ditch effort to get him to come back, but alas, they were told don’t waste their money on a trip.
Philadelphia 76ers players wanted to travel to Los Angeles this week to meet with Ben Simmons and spend time convincing their All-Star teammate to commit to the 2021-22 season with them, but they were informed not to come and that Simmons did not want to meet, sources tell The Athletic.
The core leaders on the 76ers — such as Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris and Matisse Thybulle — and most of the team were set to take a jet to see Simmons before being turned away, sources said. Multiple sources said Simmons didn’t want his teammates, some of whom he considers friends, to make the Philadelphia-to-Los Angeles commute out of courtesy because he won’t change his mind on wanting a trade.
The even bigger story, in my opinion, is the report from Shams stating that even Simmons showed up, he wouldn’t give full effort on the court.
That is something we have seen from other players when they are deadset about being traded.
It is crazy he wouldn’t even meet with his teammates. This is a very immature way of handling things, and you have to wonder how much of this is Simmons or Rich Paul?
Simmons is acting like he didn’t do anything wrong.
He is the one who refused to shoot in the playoffs and couldn’t make a free throw to save his life.
If Simmons played to his full potential, the Sixerman might have already made an NBA Finals.
The Sixers will likely be better without him in the long run if they get back players who want to be there.
Flip the page for Ben, saying he rather hang out with his new girlfriend, Maya Jama.
