Here is a secret that you should already know.
Also, if you watch the movie Uncut Gems, you might be hip to this scam, but jewelers are always selling fake stuff to rappers and athletes.
They assume the rapper/athlete won’t be smart enough to get the jewels inspected. Imagine paying a couple of hundred dollars for a fake ring, watch, or chain and then selling it to a dumb athlete for six figures.
This wasn’t a mistake, Rafaello and Co just got caught.
Recently, Lil Baby called out his jeweler after they reportedly sold him a fake $400,000 watch that was called out by FakeWatchBuster. Lil Baby went on to show off rings the jeweler gave him to make up for the now-viral flub after telling the company, “don’t f*ccin play wit me.” Now, Rafaello & Co have issued a public apology to the rapper via Instagram.
The brand said, “I should have inspected the watch after purchasing it from the dealer. I take full responsibility for not doing my job properly. I personally would NEVER knowingly sell him or anyone else — anything that is not 100% authentic.” Rafaello & Co continued by saying “I have known @lilbaby for a while and there is nothing fake about him especially his jewelry and watches.”
Fake Watch Buster is a funny name.
