A lot is going on here.
Let’s start with the Kyrie Irving situation. Irving has decided not to get vaccinated so he can’t play in any home games in the state of New York. The Nets have decided until Irving gets his shot, he won’t be around the team at all.
Please don’t feel too bad for Irving because he is getting half his salary, $16 million, to stay home and do nothing. In an ironic twist, but MAGA and some factions of Black Lives Matter are using Kyrie as a prop for their anti-vaccination stance.
This all came to a head when protesters showed up at the Nets home opener at Barclays Center and tried to storm the arena before the Nets played the Hornets.
In a totally unrelated story, Brittany Renner has been taking a lot of HEAT since her break up with Hornets PJ Washington. Three months after giving birth to their son, Renner and Washington called it quits.
Since then, Renner had gone back to the life that she had before she started a relationship with Washington. She is doing a lot of club appearances and making a lot of social media posts showing her assets.
She came under fire after a weekend trip to Jackson State University, where she jokingly warned people to “Hide Your Sons.” Many people didn’t find it funny at all.
This all comes to a head with someone at the Kyrie protests holding up a “FREE PJ” sign. This is something that is heavily featured in Renner’s IG comments any time she posts anything.
Renner herself was the one who posted the protester, meaning she doesn’t seem to be too bothered by it, and she has stated people have no idea what happened between them, and if they did, they wouldn’t be so quick to take PJ’s side.
