Grace Hightower Gets a $1 Million a Year Until She Dies or Remarries in Divorce From Robert De Niro

I know what you are thinking.

That is insane that you will pay someone $1 million a year until they die even though you are no longer married and all your kids are grown.

What if I told you this was a win for Robert De Niro?

I know it sounds crazy, but the alternative would have been Grace Hightower would have gotten HALF of De Niro’s money. De Niro’s net worth is about $500 million. I do not wish ill health on Hightower, who is 66-year-old, but I can do the math. If she lives to be 100, $34 million is still less than $250 million.

Robert De Niro’s estranged wife Grace Hightower isn’t entitled to half of the money the actor made in Hollywood and business ventures after the divorce, an appeals court ruled Thursday.

Hightower argued that a 2004 prenuptial agreement that she struck with the 78-year-old “The Irishman” star entitled her to half of his earnings from when they were together — claiming they are marital assets to be split evenly.

But the Appellate Division rejected Hightower’s arguments, upholding a lower court’s ruling from February.

Still, Hightower will walk away with millions under the prenup, which says the pair should sell the $20 million home they lived in together and put $6 million toward buying a home of her choice that she can live in with their two kids.

And, under the terms of the prenup, De Niro agreed to pay her $1 million a year in alimony until she remarries or one of them dies.

That is an L for Hightower, but she should be very comfortable making $1 million a year tax-free and living in a $6 million house.

Things could be a lot worse for her. Dr. Dre’s should hire De Niro’s lawyers.
